Corruption, Economic Activity, and the Public Sector: A Symbiotic Relationship

We part company with the view that the size of the public sector is a good proxy for the strength of the public sector. We believe that a strong government is one that fosters equality under the law, competition, property rights, political and economic freedom, and where the rule of law prevails. A strong and protective government does not need to be engaged in the production of good and services to foster competition in these goods.
