The Industrial Production Index increased 0.1% in September. However, for the third quarter as a whole, the Industrial Production Index increased at a 1.8%, annual rate, registering its first quarterly increase since the third quarter of 2015. At 104.2, the total industrial production in September was 0.86 percent lower than its year-earlier level.
