Industrial Production Outlook

The U.S. Industrial Production Index posted a 4.5% decline over the last twelve months. More troublesome is the fact that the Industrial Production Index declined at an annual rate of 6% during the third quarter of 2008 registering a decline during two consecutive quarters. Recall that two consecutive negative quarters are commonly associated with an economic recession.
