Deciphering the Market: Monetary and Price Signals

Continued improvement in the TED spread is interpreted by us as an indicator that the financial markets are turning to normalcy and that financial institutions are willing to lend to each other. That is a good sign. However a low TED spread does not necessarily insure that these institutions will be willing to extend credit to their clients.
