Any attempt to rein in executive compensation or any other attempt to redistribute income in the cause of solving the wage and income gap will lead to unintended and typically undesirable consequences. In essence, solving the wage and/or income gap cannot be the stuff of Robin Hood legend, whereby the rich must be raided for the benefit of the not-rich. The rich and the not-rich in a free society are partners in a process in which everyone stands to gain.
