Although the event is more than one quarter away, the markets are forward-looking and as we approach the date, the markets will get increasingly more interested as to who is going to replace Ben Bernanke and how the changes will impact the conduit of monetary policy. President Obama will not only appoint the next chairman, he will also appoint several new board members and quite possibly a new vice-chairman. In effect, President Obama will have an opportunity to reshape the Fed.
