What is lacking is a longer-term view. Once such a view is adopted it becomes clear that what the U.S. (and much of the rest of the world) needs is faster growth, a consensus that is emerging among the developed world governments, mainstream economists, and economic pundits. While we agree with the objectives, we do not agree with the methods the conventional view is attempting to reach the desired objectives.
