The economic policy mix enacted in most of the western world has produced a low interest rate, low inflation, and low yield environment. That, in turn, has tilted investors’ behavior towards a search for yield, resulting in an increase in the price of dividend- intensive stocks and corporate bond yields. After six years of near zero interest rates and its corresponding impact on the financial sector of the economies of the EU, central bankers must now take into account other economic objectives in their policy implementation.
