The Industrial Production Index decreased 0.2% in September, but rose at a weak annual rate of 1.8% for the third quarter of 2015. The economic weakness was also evident in the year- over-year numbers. The Industrial Production Index was up a measly 0.4% over the period. The industrial production numbers raise an obvious question. Is the economy decelerating or is it a temporary blip? We lean towards the first view.
