We contend that the Pandemic stay at home orders accelerated the trend towards the adoption of certain technologies. To borrow the parlance of the pandemic, as a result of COVID19 the global economy has achieved technological herd immunity. It forced many people to become proficient in online activities-- banking, shopping, meetings, medical visits etc. The acceleration of the adoption of these technologies revived some concepts used during the dotcom years. Then, we talked about the old economy versus the new economy. These concepts are applicable today and help explain the differences in relative performance across sectors, the various regional stock markets and even the US dollar.
