The Industrial Production Outlook

Industrial Production (IP) declined 0.5 percent in March but still grew at an annual rate of 2.4 percent in the first quarter of 2026. At 101.8 percent of its 2017 average, total IP in March was 0.7 percent above its year-earlier level. During the first quarter of 2026, the industrial production index expansion rate accelerated relative to its annual growth rate. A bullish outlook?
