The forecast for next quarter suggests that large-caps will continue to outperform both mid- and small-cap stocks. The relative performance is expected to last into the third quarter. Notice that in Table 1 the estimated probability of large-caps outperforming small-caps during second quarter 1999 has narrowed to 50.4%. The data also suggest that small-caps are likely to gain on mid-cap stocks.
