Clouds on the Horizon

Nuclear arms proliferation in India and Pakistan is one of those clouds. The analogy we draw is that of the 1950-70 period when communism was making headway across the globe, and many of our one time allies became adversaries. It was not until the Reagan presidency that we made a real stand against communist expansion. Reagan understood the role of the U.S. as leader and defender of the free world, and acted accordingly. Now, as the only superpower, the role of the U.S. is to ensure world peace and order. It is our opinion the U.S. could have been more decisive and forceful regarding the recent nuclear bomb testing.
