Social Security Reform That Would Work

April 23, 1998

In his State of the Union address and subsequent town-hall meetings, President Clinton has brought the Social Security debate to the forefront. At the heart of the presidents position is the very basic issue that some time early in the next century, Social Security will go bankrupt. To avoid this, the president wants to remedy the problem now, saying that whatever is done, we must do the "right thing" for the future of the system.
