The Country Selector

March 27, 2003

A nation's increasing real exchange rate reflects its higher rate of return, which signals to the world that the country is an attractive place for foreign and domestic investors. We've developed the Country Selector to track the real exchange rates of major developed economies. By relating changes in each country's real exchange rate to changes in the corresponding bourse, we can estimate the historical relationship between the two variables. From this relationship we can develop estimates for the probability one market will outperform another.
