The Economy and the Fed: A Price Rule Perspective

At its last meeting, the Federal Reserve acknowledged that the U.S. economic recovery had lost some steam. The Fed also noted that in spite of the slowdown, it remains worried about inflation and, as a result, it opted to persist on its campaign of gradual increases in the fed funds rate. As usual, the Fed meeting has prompted market chatter as to what the Fed is likely to do next.
