At the beginning of the first and third quarter of every year, The Wall Street Journal publishes its Semiannual Economic Forecasting Survey. Fifty-six panelists participated in the most recent survey, each panelist was asked to make 23 forecasts, and hence we have 1288 separate forecasts. We take a two-pronged approach to analyzing the whole data set.
