China and the Yuan

We do not believe that the floating of the Yuan is such a bullish event. On the contrary, we believe that it will have effects similar to those of the Bretton Woods demise. Among other things, the unhinging of the dollar from gold produced a loss of confidence in the U.S. currency and economy and in a very short order experienced double digit inflation. We believe that China could follow a similar path.
