Global Climate Change and the Patterns of Trade

Trade policy is likely to be the new frontier in the climate change battle to reduce the CO2 global emissions. As the recent experiences show, ignoring the mobility of goods and services as well as factors of production could produce unintended consequences that are obvious once the mobility is incorporated into the analysis. Understanding the impact of the climate change policies in the context of an open economy is of paramount importance in designing the global policies.
