The Wall Street Journal's Forecasting Survey

The consensus forecasts faster growth during the second half with the economists expecting the rate of expansion to peak at 2.1% during the third quarter. Overall, they expect the economy to grow at a 1.1% rate during 2008. In the economists’ collective view, the rate of expansion will not be fast enough to absorb new entrants into the labor force.
