The Wall Street Journal's Forecasting Survey

According to the latest survey, the economists expect the current downturn to conclude in June, 2009. This would make the current recession the longest and most painful downturn since the Great Depression as last week the National Bureau of Economic Research dated the start of recession in December, 2007. Many respondents cited an expected fiscal stimulus package as important to the U.S. pulling out of recession.
