The LJE Asset Allocation Process: First Quarter Performance and Second Quarter 2009 Outlook

The many crosscurrents in the economy and the markets make it very difficult to develop a one year or even a one quarter ahead asset allocation that will hold up without an investor having to revise it during the quarter. Before we explain the LJE allocation, it is worthwhile to outline the basic outlook upon which the allocation is based. Our asset allocation combines the different effects in a way that we feel will result in higher risk adjusted returns. In a departure from tradition, we believe that it is the vehicle selection that will add value to the strategy in the near term.
