Report Detail Summary

The Wall Street Journal's Forecasting Survey

August 13, 2009

The economists expect the Fed to keep the target rate in the 0-0.25% range until the end of the year with increases probable in 2010. On average, they expect the Federal Funds rate to be 0.41% in June 2010 and 0.98% in December, 2010. However, a full quarter of the economists do not see the rate moving until 2011 or later, citing the need for the Fed to first unwind its balance sheet.
