There are many lessons to be learned by the recent gulf oil spill. The damage to the environment is unmistakable and it will probably take years before the region returns to its normal state. Fortunately, the economic environment is very resilient and we hope that, if the proper policies are adopted, it may accelerate the region’s recovery.
