Although the reviews on the president’s State of the Union speech are at best mixed, we thought the speech was very informative and well delivered. The president struck a conciliatory tone and articulated some laudable goals that most people would agree with. Yet as one reads between the lines, it seems to us that he still believes and holds to the same principles that he articulated before.
