Prosperity and Elasticity Explain the Disparity Between the Compensation of Executives and the Average Worker

The economic policies of the last 25 years have led to a tremendous economic expansion that has benefited all workers. However, the policies adopted have done much more than that. They have lengthened investors’ horizons and that has led to an increase in asset valuation and the compensation of managers who were at the helm of their businesses at the time. Whether the CEOs were the cause for the higher valuation is a matter for debate.
