Around the World in 90 Days: Documenting the De-Levering Effects

The de-levering in the U.S. combined with the Fed’s announcement of an end to QEII would create a shortage of money (if the Fed does in fact follow through). The tendency for lower prices will be felt first in inflation-sensitive commodities. Australia and Canada have an abundance of the inflation-sensitive commodities. That may explain the recent underperformance of these two economies.
