Let’s take the administration at face value and pursue the logic of its argument. If uncertainty about the debt deal caused the market downdraft, then we should worry about more uncertainty to come. The new fiscal year begins in October. We don’t know whether the Democrats will produce a budget or will pursue the continuing resolution strategy of the last two fiscal years.
