Industrial Production Outlook

The Industrial Production Index has experienced its ups and downs during the last three months. It increased 0.8% during the month of April, declined 0.2% during May, and bounced back and rose 0.4% during June. For the quarter, the changes amounted to a 0.98% gain, almost a 4% annualized rate of increase during the second quarter of 2012. More importantly, at the end of June, the index was 4.57% percent above its year-earlier level.
